If planting Vans Due Grass, keep in mind that it should be planted when it is dormant (October through March). This grass is desirable for its roots’ ability to create a net to hold sand in place.
Uses
Vans Dune Grass is a great use for water side landscape, stabilize dunes, and erosion control.

The grass commonly attracts birds.
History & Lore
In the hopes of keeping their sand in place, the residents of Truro, Massachusetts were told to paint Vans Dune Grass in the 1800s.
