Ulmus parvifolia, also known as the Chinese Corkbark Elm, Chinese Elm, or Lacebark Elm is a deciduous or semi-deciduous tree is highly resistant to Dutch elm disease and unaffected by the Elm Leaf Beetle, making it a tough and attractive tree that can grow almost anywhere.
Uses
The Chinese Elm is an excellent ornamental tree for small to medium yards, and is also a popular choice for bonsai enthusiasts.

This tree provides shelter for for a variety of birds.
History & Lore
Introduced to Europe in the 18th Century and Americas in the 19th century, the Chinese Elm is the most ubiquitous elm, now found on all continents except Antarctica.
