Description

Notes
Out of all of the Arborvitaes, the Green Giant Arborvitae offers better resistance to deer browse.

Uses
‘Green Giant’ Arborvitaes are often used for landscaping, hedging, privacy screens, and windbreaks. If you’re looking for an alternative to Hemlock in the Northeast and Leyland Cypress in the Southeast, ‘Green Giant’ Arborvitaes serve as a great substitute.

Wildlife Value
This tree offers great nesting areas and cover for birds and other small animals. Its flower buds, seeds, and foliage act as a great food source for many woodland animals as well.

History & Lore
D.T. Poulsen of Denmark gave the U.S. National Arboretum a single plant in 1967. From this act, the clone name ‘Green Giant’ was used and propagated.
